Azad Kashmir will achieve on Sunday next a breakthrough in the travelling sector after its major city of Mirpur will be directly linked with Sindh province through the latest coach services on Mirpur-Karachi section, official sources said.
The sources told APP here on Thursday that under the plan a fleet of four latest air-conditioned coaches would start plying daily directly between Mirpur and Karachi from November 7.
The coach service on Mirpur-Karachi section is the part of the government's integrated plan, which has recently been executed under the phased programme to provide safe and comfortable travelling facilities to the commuters.
The scheduled Mirpur-Karachi coach services will not only provide the direct travelling facilities between the two stations to the population of Mirpur division but would also benefit the population of the adjoining districts of Jhelum, Gujrat and Gujranwala side by side various districts of Sindh province close to the National Highway (GT Road), the sources said.
Azad Kashmir Transport Authority has taken initial necessary steps for the execution of the plan by issuing the permission orders to the private sector. In this connection reputed private-sector transporters group M/s Warrayam Travels Service will formally launched four new latest coaches between Mirpur and Karachi section on Sunday next.
Disclosing this at a news conference here on Thursday, Chief Executive of Warrayam Travels Service Chaudhry Muhammad Ayub said that the plan of direct coach service on Mirpur-Karachi section will not only benefit thousands of the workers hailing from Karachi and other parts of Sindh, working in the Mirpur based industrial concerns, but the workers of various multinational construction companies involved in the recently launched Mangla Dam raising project will also be benefited of the direct travelling facilities from Mirpur to various other stations on way to Karachi.
Announcing the daily journey schedule on this section, Ayub said that from Mirpur, the coach will start its daily journey at 1.30 pm from the bay of Warayam Travels at local general bus stand and will reach at its destination (Karachi) within 24 hours. He said that from Karachi the Mirpur coach service will start journey at 10.00 am from cantonment coaches stand.
He said that the population of Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal, Arifwla, Bora, Vihari, Mailsi, Karore Pacca, Bahawalpur, Sadiqabad, districts will also be benefited of coach service. He said that on the first leg of the plan of the government, similar direct coaches service have also been launched from Mirpur separately for Lahore and Bahawalpur.
