Sindh Police has chalked out a new strategy in which all recruitments and postings would be carried out in line with merit policy. Under the strategy, not only meritorious and capable candidates will find their affiliation with the police department, but would also help improve the department's image and performance and earn good name for the force.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police, Sindh, Kamal Shah, while addressing the staff at Eid Milan party at Central Police Office on Saturday.
He said that police personnel should approach their senior officers for early redressal of their difficulties and problems.
He appreciated a proposal from CPO employees for establishment of a 'Police Model School' (PMS) and directed DIG Headquarters to work out recommendations for PMS on the pattern of Army Cadet School and College.
Regarding provision of motorcycles, as proposed by CPO employees, the IGP directed DIG T&T to submit a report to arrange motorcycles to them on easy instalments and on ownership basis by the end of this month.
On the occasion, Shah heard the problems of CP0 employees and directed DIG Establishment to consider the issue of promotion of ministerial staff and finalise such issues by December 31.
He sought a report for posting of surplus employees at CPO and the problems faced by them.
He also set up a committee for the construction and repair of residential flats for department employees as well as other police offices. The committee has been asked to submit its recommendations by December 31.
Kamal Shah approved the establishment of a dispensary at CPO and directed DIG Headquarters to allocate a room for this purpose and depute a doctor from Police Hospital.
He also issued directive for provision of drinking water and repair of toilets at CPO.
All senior police officers including DIG Investigation, CCPO Karachi, DIGs Administration, Special Branch, Investigation and Headquarters were also present on the occasion.
