A leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Shaikh Abdul Aziz has reiterated that Kashmir is a disputed territory and not an integral part of India as claimed by the Indian premier in a recent statement. According to Kashmir Media Service, he said in a statement here on Sunday that Kashmir would continue to be disputed, till it is resolved in line with the Kashmiris' aspirations.
He recalled that the United Nations had mandated Kashmir as a disputed area and promised that its future would be decided by Kashmiris themselves. "That promise still remains unfulfilled," Shaikh Aziz said and emphasised that Kashmiris are offering unique sacrifices for their right to self-determination and not for economic benefits.
He said, Pakistan has been taking serious and positive initiatives about resolving the Kashmir dispute and stressed that it is now for India to give up its intransigence and adopt realistic attitude to resolve the issue to the satisfaction of the Kashmiri people.
FAKE CASE: An old fake case against the chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, has been revived in a TADA court in Jammu, in order to victimise him for his active role in the liberation struggle. After appearing in the court on Saturday, he said, "Kashmiris are struggling for their birthright of self-determination, usurped by India." He strongly condemned the ongoing massive human rights violations by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Muslim League Jammu Kashmir has strongly condemned the incident of arson at Rathsona, Beeru, and killing of Abdul Rahman Hajjam at Kawoosa, in Budgam district.
In a statement on Sunday, a spokesman for the party said, "such brutal acts have exposed the black face of Indian rulers and their armed agents."
The spokesman said a delegation of the Muslim League visited Rathsona where people came to the streets and held strong protests. He said the police used indiscriminate force to stop the protest procession and condemned the police action.
The body of a Kashmiri youth, martyred by occupation troops, was recovered at Baba Muqam, in Kupwara area.
