He was talking with the representatives of the China National Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Group Corporation, which is engaged in construction of Gomal Zam Dam in Pakistan.
The Company's representatives expressed their gratitude to the Chinese government for its efforts to rescue the company's engineers, kidnapped in Pakistan.
China appreciates Pakistan's efforts providing security to its citizens, he said, adding that the Chinese government hopes to ensure both the smooth running of Sino-Pakistani co-operation projects, and also the security of Chinese citizens.
The Pakistani government has expressed understanding of Chinese concerns and stepped up efforts to protect the security of our citizens, Wu added.
Meanwhile, an official of Jiangsu Solar Energy Resources Institute said that China agreed to provide technical assistance to Pakistan for developing cheap electricity through solar energy.
We can particularly help in manufacturing solar collector tubes that could be used providing inexpensive electricity, he said in an interview with newsmen. A delegation of technical experts have already visited Pakistan for undertaking joint ventures to develop these tubes as well as other methods of producing thermal solar energy.
The two countries, he said have bright prospects to co-operate under the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed by the two countries last year, that was aimed at producing electricity through renewable energy resources.
