Partly Facetious: guessing about the second good news

"BB says that we will hear another good news soon."
Published November 29, 2004

"BB says that we will hear another good news soon."
"Another? What was the first one?"
"Her husband's release."
"So when does she get to see him?"
"What do you mean?"
"Exactly what I said. When does she get to see him? She sure as hell is not going to visit Pakistan because she fears arrest on arrival so my question is: then is Asif Zardari allowed to leave the country?"
"That I am not quite sure of. I mean the Government could even put him on the exit control list and no one can challenge that either."
"So what's the second good news from her point of view? That he is released but she can't see him?"
"Don't be facetious. We know BB's hang-ups but she has always been fiercely loyal to AZ."
"Ah yes, that is right. And you know he talked about sacrifice. I claim that he is the most jailed politician, or politician spouse, in our history. I don't think anyone else came even close."
"His father-in-law."
"He wasn't a politician spouse."
"So what's the second good news? Want to take a guess?"
"Well, if it was any other woman than BB I would have said a husband in jail for eight years, gets released, maybe time for another baby. But not BB! I am sure her news is related to perhaps a deal with Musharraf..."
"She and AZ have categorically denied a deal. I am sure they are not lying because frankly Musharraf doesn't need any more Lotas if you know what I mean...specially Lotas who are used to having others be a Lota unto them if you know what I mean."
"Yes, that's true for sure. Then maybe that AZ will be the leader of the party in her absence, and not..."
"AZ has already said he will remain a party member and not replace the present acting leader. But in the next breath he added that he could be the bridge between Musharraf and the opposition."
"Is that such a good news from BB's perspective? I think not."
"Then what could be the good news?"
"Maybe she is taking another all expenses paid foreign trip? She used to love those when she was the PM."
"Yep she always liked that! Yes maybe that is the second good news."
