Spiritual Leader of the Ismaili community, Prince Karim Aga Khan, called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at the Prime Minister House here on Sunday and discussed regional and international situation. He congratulated the prime minister on his successful tour of Saarc countries. Shaukat briefed Aga Khan about his recent dialogue process with Indian leadership and said Pakistan wanted peace and stability in the region and willing to resolve all the disputes, including the core issue of occupied Kashmir peacefully in accordance with the aspiration of Kashmiris.
Aga Khan while appreciating the economic policies of the government said these have pave the way to strengthen the economy of Pakistan and the atmosphere for foreign investment has improved.
The prime minister said Pakistan wants that Prince Karim Aga Khan should invest in the country.
Shaukat said there is a great potential for investment in tourism sector and it would be very lucrative investment.
He said Pakistan with a population of 150 million is a big market in the region and the government has provided all the facilities to make it investment-friendly.
He said the foreign investors should take full advantage of the investment opportunities available in Pakistan and participate in Pakistan's development. The prime minister, while referring to his recent tour to Saarc countries as chairman of the organisation, said it was basically aimed at improving trade end economic relations in the region.
He said as chairman of Saarc, Pakistan made sincere efforts to make the forum a vibrant and active organisation to further promote development in the region.
Later, the prime minister hosted a dinner for Prince Karim Aga Khan.
