Census and registration of Afghan refugees in Peshawar district has started in full swing and all the Union Secretaries have been directed to complete the first phase of the process by December 15. A press release issued by the Secretary District Council office here has said this on Monday.
Addressing a meeting of Union Secretaries in District Council Hall here, focal person for registration and census of Afghan refugees Israrullah Advocate (Nazim) highlighted the importance of the current drive jointly undertaken by the United Nation Organisation (UNO) and the government of Pakistan for registration of Afghan refugees.
He asked all the union secretaries to perform their duties in their connection with full devotion and a sense of natural responsibilities.
Co-ordinator for Registration and Census of Afghan refugees in Peshawar District Syed Maqsood Badshah and officers of census department Mohammad Pervez and Ikramullah also spoke on the occasion and informed the union secretaries of the various details of the process.
