The Butchers of Islamabad have threatened complete strike demanding the repeal of recent notification issued by commissioner which orders butchers to provide data about their customers and information regarding their daily sales. The Chief Commissioner Islamabad issued a notification recently that demands all butchers to maintain a register for collecting customers' data including their residential addresses, phone numbers and daily consumption of meat.
According to a statement issued by Jamiat-ul-Quresh Meat Welfare Association (JQMWA), an emergency meeting of the association was held on Sunday after police started demanding implementation of the law by the butchers.
The meeting rejected this notification terming against ethics and decided not to provide the customers data on any cast.
President of JQMWA Khurshid Ahmed said that they would not provide information of their respectable customers to local administration.
He announced a strike against this notification and said butchers will launch protest around the country against this unlawful notification and will never compromise on this problem.
Butchers will go on strike and never restore the meat supply to federal capital until the exception of their demands, statement said.
