As many as 22 different laws including amendments have been passed during last 100 days of the present government, said Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights, Muhammad Wasi Zafar on Sunday. While several amendments are being considered in the standing committees to ensure easy access to justice and quick disposal of cases, the Law Minister told PTV.
This shows the government is mitigating sufferings of the common man. There is no precedent in history of the country to pass such number of laws during the short span of time. It is a record, he added. He said, amendments are proposed after holding thorough discussions with all concerned quarters to make the law more effective.
Wasi Zafar said, efforts are on to refine and revive the judicial system of the country.
To a question about registration of FIR, he said, the amendment in the law has been proposed and would help in reducing un-necessary litigation. Under the reforms a common man would be able to take action if a wrong FIR is get registered against him, he added.
"In presence of the law, people involved in blackmailing and teasing innocent citizen would avoid litigation."
Replying to another question about issuance of stay-order, he said no stay order would be granted unilaterally without listening views of second party.
The second party would be served notice through speedy way of communication to appear before the court to defend its stance and express views, the Law Minister added.
