ABIDJAN: Cotton exports from Ivory Coast totalled 282,748 tonnes to the end of June, up 1.5 percent from the previous year, provisional port data showed on Monday.
Annual cotton output was about 400,000 tonnes before a 2002-03 civil war plunged the country into nearly a decade of political turmoil.
Attractive prices in recent years have drawn farmers back to the sector.
The main port of Abidjan is also the primary point of export for cotton produced in Ivory Coast's landlocked neighbours Mali and Burkina Faso.
