The Saudi-Pak Commercial Bank has appointed Mansoor M. Khan, a prominent banker, as its new chief executive officer (CEO), according to Press release. At present, Mansoor Khan is serving the UBL as the senior executive vice-president and group executive, Corporate and Institutional Banking.
In this position, he has been managing one of the largest corporate portfolios amongst all banks operating in Pakistan with assets worth Rs 89 billion.
Mansoor joined the UBL in April 2001 as a senior executive vice-president. He was responsible for formulating and implementing business plans and strategies, risk and portfolio management of corporate clients, re-energising the corporate banking unit, marketing of financial institutions and personnel management.
Though his efforts he transformed the corporate bank from being a dormant unit into the largest contributor of revenue for the UBL.
He also established the Cash Management Unit that has closed some of the largest and the most sophisticate transactions in the country.
Mansoor is an MBA (finance) from the University of Hartford, Connecticut, USA, and an MA (eco) from the Karachi University.
He started his career with the BCCI in 1981 under an international recruiting programme, and was posted to Kuwait International Finance Company, an investment wing of the BCCI.
He subsequently joined the Commercial Bank of Kuwait in the Risk Management. Upon his return to Pakistan in 1992, he joined the Emirates Bank International (EBI), Pakistan, as the corporate head, Karachi, and rose to the area manager (south) before leaving for UBL in 2001.
Mansoor is on the Board of Directors of NIT, ICP, United Asset Management Company (UAMC), United Executors and Trustee Company (UETC) and United Bank Financial Services (UBFS).
He is also the chairman of board of trustee of UBL. In the past, he has served as the director of Small Business Corporation of Pakistan.-PR
