President Pakistan Muslim League (PML), Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Sunday said that mass contact campaign of the party will be made more effective in order to accelerate the pace of reorganisation process of PML. Addressing a meeting of PML Lahore here, he stressed upon provincial leadership of the party to give priority to the proposals and suggestions of the workers in reorganisation process.
Chief Minister and PML Punjab president, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, General Secretary and Provincial Minister for Communication & Works, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, Senior Vice President Punjab and District Nazim Lahore, Mian Amir Mahmood, Secretary Finance and Provincial Minister for Information and Technology, Abdul Aleem Khan, Provincial Tourism Minister, Mian Aslam Iqbal.
PML Lahore president, Mian Muneer, Chief Coordinator to Chief Minister, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Senator Dilawar Abbas, MNAs Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Sardar Nasrullah Dareshak, PML Punjab Women Wing president, Shahana Farooqi and other officers bearers and workers attended the meeting.
Shujaat Hussain said that federal and provincial governments were implementing welfare-oriented programmes in accordance with the manifesto of the PML. He said that joining of the PML by the office-bearers and members of other political parties was a proof of the fact that reforms agenda of the present government had accelerated the pace of socio-economic development.
Punjab Chief Minister in his speech said it was being ensured in the PML reorganisation that due representation is given to all strata of the society and added that PML was being reorganised at every level in the country and the party was fully capable to face any challenge.
Elahi said that the government was promoting the culture of tolerance and accommodation in the country. Union councils would also be given importance in the re-organisation process, he said.
PML Punjab secretary general and Provincial Minister for Communication & Works, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin in his address highlighted the steps being taken for the reorganisation of PML Lahore.
District Nazim, Mian Amir Mahmood said public welfare and uplift programmes were being effectively executed under the dynamic leadership of PML President Shujaat Hussain and Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi.
