Describing the deteriorating law and order situation in the country as alarming the President of Global Foundation, Ulfat Hussain Kazmi said that government should take stock of the worsening situation and provide protection to life and property of the masses. "The main reason of the increase in the crime in Pakistan is social injustice, discriminatory attitude in jobs and the
distribution of resources", Kazmi said here on Wednesday.
He was talking to Habib Khan Orakzai, renowned human right activist and President International Human Rights
Organisation (IHRO), who was looted by some robbers in Karachi. Expressing solidarity with Orakzai, Kazmi condemned the robbery attempt on and called upon the government to take stock of the situation and make sure the immediate arrest of the culprits.
"It is a challenge on the part of the government as in spite of tall claims of police reforms crime rate is increasing day in and day out", Kazmi said adding that failure in arresting the increasing crime rate means that government is lacking confidence of the masses and it has failed to render justice.
It is need of the hour that all possible measures should be taken to control the situation and bring the crime rate down, Kazmi said and added that the situation if not taken into control the country would lead towards anarchy having dangerous results.
