Delays for oil tankers at the Turkish Straits rose to 12 days for a round trip to the Black Sea on Friday, as heavy fog kept the Bosphorus waterway shut, local shipping agents said. Leth Mastership said delays for tankers steaming north through the Dardanelles and Bosphorus were about six days with another six days to pass south again.
Delays have doubled since Monday with maritime authorities forced to shut the Straits for most of the week because of poor visibility.
