Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has directed law-enforcement agencies to ensure strict security measures for maintaining peace during Eid-ul-Aza. Talking to APP at his residence here on Monday, he said the government was committed to extending every protection to the citizens in the province. "The government is fully determined to crush saboteurs and trouble-makers, and committed to protecting lives and honour of the citizens at all cost," he added.
He said Eid-ul-Azha teaches a lesson of tolerance and sacrifice, and warned those tried to cash the situation would not be spared.
Pervaiz Elahi said the directives have been issued to the law-enforcement agencies to depute special police force and extra staff at all the sensitive points before and after Eid to avoid any mishap on the occasion.
He said the police in plain clothes would also be deputed at all the worship places, including churches, Imambargah, city mosques, bus stands, railway stations and recreational parks during Eid days.
The chief minister said health services, Fire Brigade Services, bomb disposal units and other essential services to remain alert during Eid holidays.
He said the Elite Police Force have already been deputed outside all commercial and State Banks of Pakistan in the province to avert dacoities during cash-transaction before Eid.
Pervaiz Elahi said the police have been directed to ensure round-the-clock patrolling in the city and other parts of the province on Eid days.
He also urged the general public to co-operate with the police in maintaining law and order in the society.
