Former Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz on Monday said the continuation and further strengthening of people to people contacts between India and Pakistan might help make the composite dialogue result oriented with the passage of time. Back channel diplomacy might help strengthen the process of formal talks between the two countries, Sartaj told a private television channel.
He said Pakistan had shown a great deal of flexibility for the progress of composite dialogue, then it was India's turn to reciprocate in the same spirit.
To a question, he said India would of course face international pressure if it failed to respond to Pakistan's concessions and flexibility.
He further said that an overnight solution of longstanding issues between the two countries was not possible adding, however, if the process continued with positive approach by all the parties, one could hope for better conclusion at the end.
To another question, he said if India tried to gain time in the guise of composite dialogue, the people as well as the government of Pakistan would not tolerate it for a long time.
