People of Sui could not offer Eid prayers because curfew-like situation was created in the area. The army was patrolling and severe tension was prevailing in the area, while law-enforcement agencies had demolished 37 homes in the area and arrested 90 locals in connection with rocket attacks on the Sui gas installations during an operation, claimed Abdul Rauf Khan Sasoli, deputy secretary general of Jamhoori Watan Party and a spokesman of Nawab Akbar Bugti on Friday on phone.
He said that telecommunication authorities had restored the telephones of Nawab Akbar Bugti on Thursday evening.
Talking to this correspondent on phone Sasoli vehemently condemned the institution of a case against the son and grandson of Nawab Akbar Bugti and 35 others of the clan over the happenings in Sui last week.
He said: "The government is victimising tribal chief Nawab Akbar Bugti at one hand and on the other, it is trying to negotiate with him on the prevailing situation."
Sasoli said: "Our children could not go to schools during a week because a state of terror developed in the area since the army was deployed, gunship helicopters were flying in the area, mortar guns were installed at different places and their homes were being demolished besides launching an operation."
