The Britain-based Jaffery Business Group will start air service to Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad under British flag from Jauly this year and later launch London-Karachi flights. A delegation of the company briefed Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan about its plans in a meeting held at Governor House on Wednesday.
The delegation included Company's Chairman Tasejad Jaffery, group MD Subthain, Director International Sales David Collick, Director Flight Operation and Chief Executive Officer.
The governor was informed that the company is also launching other business relating to air transport while it is looking prospects in the field of tourism.
Governor Ishratul Ibad told the visitors about availability of vast investment opportunities in Pakistan and said that Karachi is an emerging economic hub of the region.
In recent years, he said, interest in investment sector has grown due to improving law and order situation and provision of better facilities.
He said that in the past, people used to talk about winding up their business from here, but now local and foreign investors are expanding their business. He said that at the international level a positive impression has been established about Karachi which is causing positive impact on every sector.
He referred to prospects which exist in the field of tourism and specially along the sea coast and said investors can made an inroad in hotels, motels, cable cars, surfing and sea side resorts.
Governor Ishratul Ibad informed that best opportunities also exist for investment in the low cost housing as there is preferentially need for at least one million houses.
He welcomed investment in fish and shrimp processing units and said this would help enhance the exports.
The delegation leader showed interest in the agro-based industries whereby agriculture commodities and fruits can be exported after making them value added.
