The Additional District and Sessions Judge, Bahawalpur, Razzaq Nawaz, has granted pre-arrest bail to 13 activists of Muslim League (N), including two members of the Punjab Assembly, against the surety bonds of Rs 0.1 million each. Police have registered a case against them under MPO-16 for delivering objectionable speeches on October 12, 2004 at a meeting organised at Dera.
Those who were booked are: Muhammad Iqbal Channar, MPA, Begum Perveen Masud Bhatti, MPA; Sami-ullah Chaudhry, Chaudhry Mumtaz Ahmed Jajjaj, Seth Muhammad Aqueel-ur-Rehman, Mehr Muhammad Iqbal, Tahir Janbaz, Munawar Abbasi, Chaudhry Saud Majeed, Chacha Ghulam Rasul, Amin Pahari, Chaudhry Mohammad Iqbal Gulab, and Malik Muhammad Naeem, advocate.
