Dacoits looted more than 40 participants of a marriage party in nearby Chak No. 69-RB Ghaseet Pura, here on Saturday. According to details, the arrangements were going on for marriage ceremony of Mahfooz Ahmad, Nazim of Union Council 69-RB Ghaseet Pura.
Suddenly, a gang of 15 armed dacoits reached in the area and entered the house and started firing with guns. They snatched watches, cash, jewellery and other personal belonging of the participants most of them women on gunpoint and fled away while locking the door from out side.
Khurrianwala police have registered a case and investigation is in progress. Meanwhile, the councillors of various union councils of the area strongly protested against the looting the house of a Nazim of the area. They demanded to the District Government and police immediate arrest of dacoits.
