Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday said the government was setting up effluent treatment plants in six industrial estates to help provide clean environment. Talking to a delegation of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry led by S. M. Muneer which met him at the Prime Minister House, he said one of these effluent plants was being set up at the Korangi industrial estate.
The Asian Development Bank is providing assistance for these plants.
The delegation felicitated the Prime Minister on holding a very successful Expo 2005. They said the Expo has very successfully introduced Pakistani products to foreign buyers.
The Prime Minister said the industrial growth of 15 percent during the first five months of the current fiscal year augurs well in the country's economic development.
The government, he said, was providing maximum facilities to the private sector to grow rapidly. The industrial growth in the country will help in creating more job opportunities and raising the income levels, he added.
