President General Pervez Musharraf on Thursday greeted President of Iran Hojjatoleslam Seyed Mohammad Khatami on national day of Islamic Republic of Iran falling on February 11. In his message the President of Pakistan said "On the auspicious occasion of the national day of the Islamic Republic of Iran, its gives me great pleasure to convey to your excellency and to the brotherly people of Iran, my warmest felicitations and best wishes."
Pakistan and Iran are bound in a fraternal relationship based on common faith, shared history and cultural affinity. The manifold commonalties that characterise this relationship reinforce the strong desire of our two peoples to add greater substance to our mutual co-operation in all fields.
I am confident that these bonds of brotherhood between Pakistan and Iran would continue growing to the mutual advantage of our two peoples. I avail myself of this opportunity to convey my best wishes for your excellency's health and happiness and for the continued progress and prosperity of the brotherly people of Iran. Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz greeted President of Iran Hojjatoleslam Seyed Mohammad Khatami on national day of Islamic Republic of Iran falling on February 11.
Prime Minister in his message said, "On behalf of the government and the people of Pakistan as also on my own behalf, I have great pleasure to convey to your excellency and the fraternal people of Iran sincere felicitations on the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Relations between Pakistan and Iran are rooted deep in history, mutual goodwill and a strong common desire to further strengthen bilateral co-operation in all fields. Our friendly relations have grown steadily over the years. I am happy that these are well poised to expand further in the interests of the two peoples as well as regional peace and security.
Please accept, excellency, my best wishes for you personal health and happiness as also for the continued progress and prosperity of the brotherly people of Iran".
