A joint meeting of Sindh Cabinet Committee on Privatisation and Provincial Privatisation Commission was held here on Monday under the chairmanship of Sindh Senior Minister for Finance, Syed Sardar Ahmed. The meeting took stock of the progress made in respect of privatisation of Lakhra Power Plant, coal mines and Dadu and Thatta Sugar Mills. In the meeting directive was issued for processing the legal formalities in respect of properties of Sindh Road Transport Corporation.
The board of revenue was directed to issue orders for division of 75 acres of land in Gadap Town into pieces of five acres each so that privatisation process in this regard could also be expeditiously completed. The budget of 2004-05 also came under consideration.
The meeting was attended, among others, by Chief Secretary Mohammed Aslam Sanjrani, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Ghulam Sarwar Khehro, Chairman Privatisation Commission Tariq Amin and others.
