Ban on plastic drums for carrying milk challenged

Muhammad Akram of United Dairy Farm has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the decision of Executive District Officer (Health), Lahore, imposing ban on the use of plastic drums for carrying milk and cream. The petitioner contended that plastic drums are being used since last many years for carrying milk and cream but the respondent illegally and without lawful authority imposed ban on its use. He prayed to the court to declare this action of the respondent as illegal, unconstitutional and without lawful authority.
HIKE IN PETROL PRICES: The LHC will take up the petition against increase in petroleum prices on Tuesday.
The petitioner, M.D. Tahir, advocate, contended in his petition that the respondent government is increasing the petroleum prices without any justification.
He, therefore, prayed the court to declare this action of the respondent as illegal and without lawful authority, and also direct the respondent to withdraw the same.
