Acting President and Chairman, Senate Muhammadmian Soomro has said that the national issues should be kept above personal liking and disliking. Talking to newsmen at Sukkur airport on Tuesday night, he asked those opposing the construction of new dams to suggest the ways for overcoming water shortage without building the dams. To a question, Soomro said, "The opposition plays a pivotal role in democratic set up and fortunately in Senate both the ruling as well as opposition parties are playing their due role evident from the fact that often they show mutual understanding on national issues."
