For the first time in the history of AIOU the 6th Convocation (Islamabad Chapter) of the university was held in four stages at provincial level and "Distinction holders" male and female students of each province from Bachelor to Ph.D were conferred upon "Silver and Gold Medals".
Federal Minster of Education Lieutenant General (Retd) Javed Ashraf Qazi conferred Gold Medals upon the following male and female students hailing from Islamabad and AJ&K for their par excellent performance in exams, at 6th Convocation (Islamabad Chapter) held on February 24, 2005 Thursday.
