New York cocoa futures prices rose Thursday in choppy trading, with market players focusing on spread-related transactions between the two most active monthly contracts, traders said. At the New York Board of Trade, the benchmark May cocoa contract rose $15 to settle at $1,753 a tonne, after dealing in a range from $1,735 to $1,775.
The July contract likewise advanced $15 to end at $1,767, while deferred deliveries climbed $15 to $16.
