Semiconductor supply company Entegris Inc will acquire industry peer Mykrolis Corp in a stock deal worth about $579 million that will create a group with a strong presence in Asia, the fastest-growing region for chip-making, the companies said on Monday. The companies said that together they serve virtually every major player in the semiconductor industry, with products and services that have little overlap. Mykrolis shareholders would receive 1.39 shares of Entegris common stock for each share of Mykrolis common stock.
The deal values Mykrolis shares at a premium of about 5 percent to its closing price of $13.15 on Friday on the New York Stock Exchange.
