The Pakistan Engineering Services (Pvt) Limited (PES) has been awarded a contract worth millions of rupees by the Emirates Trading Agency (Al Ghurair Group) of United Arab Emirates (UAE) for conducting feasibility study for a 160 MW thermal power plant in Qeshm Island (Iran). The Pakistani firm was selected for the project after competition among a number of international consultancy firms.
It may be mentioned that Emirates Trading Agency is also setting up a 123 MW Combined Cycle Thermal Power Plant based on low quality gas near Dharki (Pakistan).
Akram Rafi, CAD Engineer, Pakistan Engineering Services (Pvt) Limited told Business Recorder here Wednesday that PES is a private limited company offering consultancy services right from conceptual planning to completion of projects, including pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessment, detailed design, preparation of tender documents, tender evaluation, assisting clients in award of contracts, construction supervision, commissioning and trial operation.
At present, Akram said that his firm has also been engaged by Wapda to provide consultancy services for feasibility studies and detailed design and preparation of tender documents for Kurram Tangi Multipurpose dam, review of design, preparation of construction drawings, and construction supervision of Satpara Dam Multipurpose project, design review and construction/supervision of Indus Tributaries, High-Head Hydropower Complex.
To a question, he said that his firm has also been engaged by a UAE-based sponsor for carrying out feasibility studies of a 123 MW combined cycle power plant based on Marri Deep Sea.
Responding to another query, he said that his firm is going to open its office at Dubai and other parts of the world to provide its services world-wide.
