The onset of Customs Administrative Reforms (CARE) marks the transition of Pakistan Customs into a futuristic, progressive and responsive organisation. The Central Board of Revenue and the department deserve full appreciation for reaching this milestone.
As Pakistan earns moves ahead as a potential, emerging market, the importance of a modernised, sate-of-the-art customs department becomes more and more emphatic. It is a welcome sign the department has kept pace with the future challenge in transforming itself.
The implementations of CARE project will surely contribute to economic vibrancy of the country allowing Pakistani market players to join the global business mainstream and vice versa.
I congratulate the think-tanks and power engines who fuelled the project and made it come true, what was dreamed some years ago.
