Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (Prgmea) is holding its 7th Export Excellence Awards' 2004 here on April 26. According to a spokesman of the Association, the trophies will be distributed amongst top 20 exporters for the year 2004 and those who highest price as compared to National average price determined by the Government of Pakistan under different textile quota categories of readymade garments both in Europe and USA in 2004.
This list also includes an exporter who secured highest foreign exchange in textile non-quota items and another exporter obtaining the highest FOB price per unit. An exporter who specialised in traditional ladies dresses including bridal wear will also receive trophy.
Chairman Prgmea, Ijaz A Khokhar said the ceremony being held continuously for the last six years would induce SMEs to strive hard for producing qualitative and competitive textile goods to compete exporters of China, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka etc.
"After more than one and a half decade the textile industry has been provided a level playing field to earn Pakistan's share in the international market," he added.
