Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said the Pakistan Muslim League government is fully capable and determined to achieve the objectives of socio-economic development. Pervaiz said: "The PML is giving a practical shape to an extensive programme of public service as promotion of national integrity and welfare of masses is the pivot of its policies."
He said this while presiding over a high-level meeting regarding PML re-organisation here on Saturday. "Besides, providing equitable opportunities of development and uplift to backward areas, a comprehensive programme of progress and social justice is being effectively implemented in the province," he added.
Provincial Minister for Communication and Works and General Secretary PML Punjab Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din, President PML Lahore Mian Muhammad Munir and other PML office-bearers were also present.
Pervaiz Elahi said: "The PML, which is the founder party of Pakistan, is playing a historic role for the promotion of democracy, strengthening of democratic institutions and upholding of democratic values in the country."
He said the PML has introduced revolutionary reforms in education, health, agriculture and other sectors of social development, as a result of which, the socio-economic condition of the masses has considerably improved.
He said due to positive thinking of the PML leadership, its accommodating attitude and reform process, office-bearers and members of other political parties are joining the PML ranks in large numbers, resulting in its growing strength and popularity.
"The party re-organisation process is in full swing in the province and the party workers are engaged in solving people's problems," he said, adding, "the PML is being organised at ward, tehsil and district levels as its re-organisation at grass roots level would ensure public participation in the reforms programmes.
He said it was the responsibility of PML office-bearers and members to give solid proposals to the government for solving problems of the masses.
