Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting has said that Pakistan would never withdraw from its righteous and oldest stance on Kashmir issue and always provide moral, political and diplomatic support of Kashmiri people on all levels. "Hurriyat Conference should realise the ground realities and bring positive changes and flexibility in its behaviour on the dialogue process for resolution of Kashmir issue", Sh Rashid said while talking to reporters on the occasion of centennial ceremony of Moti Bazar, here on Saturday afternoon.
Moti Bazar is the oldest shopping centre of the twin cities. It has more than one thousand shops having a long range of variety in clothes, ready made garments, hosiery, bangles, wedding dresses, footwear, leather garments, and miscellaneous items besides a good taste of fast foods.
Moti Bazar is holding its centennial ceremony and in this regard celebrations are underway, besides holding special sales and discount on commodities.
Sheikh Rashid said that changing international scenario demands prudence and determination on the issues. "When we say that situation would remain always in our favour it is not true", he added. He said that Hurriyat Conference should remain ready to play its effective role for solution of Kashmir at this important juncture.
Responding to a question regarding the political struggle of Pakistan People's Party, he said that PPP should remain away from creating problems for the democratic set up of the country. "PPP should utilise its resources and energies for creating conducive atmosphere for the sake of democracy. If they are real democrats they should strengthen the present democratic set up of the country." Minister dispelled the impression of return of Mian Nawaz Sharif, Benazir Bhutto and Altaf Hussain. He said that there is no possibility of the return of these three persons in Pakistan before the general elections of 2007.
"People's Party should set its direction right and stop throwing wide balls", minister said in response to a question about the change in government as a result of PPP move.
Talking on the issue of Balochistan, he said that government is looking for a break through on this issue. "Whenever Akbar Bugti says we will send journalists to Balochistan to bring realities in front of people", he added. He said that on May 2, Parliamentary Committee on Balochistan would meet and have some positive decisions, which would give a positive turn to the issue.
Minister said that there would be no compromise on the security of national installations and writ of the government, whenever and wherever any one challenge it he would be dealt with iron hands.
To a question, he said that it is moral obligation of the government to take along the opposition parties and address their grievances and government is doing so on all levels.
To a question about return of Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif, he said that Nawaz Sharif left the country with his consent and Benazir is at liberty whenever she like to return. She has to face the courts on the charges of corruption against her, he added.
