More than 200 exporters, industrialists, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) would take part in the upcoming Kashgar Expo, "Kashgar Central, South Asian Economic, Trade and Commodities" and display Pakistani products in this expo to earn good market in more than one billion population China and other South Asian countries taking part in the expo. The expo, starting from May 10 and will remain open till May 12 would prove very helpful for Pakistani business community in earning a good market space in China and other countries, said Syed Asif Ali, a renowned exporter and Member Standing Committee of RCCI on WTO.
Talking to Business Recorder about upcoming Kashgar Expo here on Monday, Asif Ali said more than 50 companies of Rawalpindi region would take part in the expo.
"We are busy in making efforts for the industrialisation in Rawalpindi region and events like Kashgar Expo would prove encouraging factors for the entrepreneurs", he added.
He said that industrialists and exporters from Rawalpindi would display their products including hosiery, marble, readymade garments, leather garments, food items, rice, surgical goods, he added.
He said the participation in the Kashgar Expo would not have commercial purpose but it would be an opportunity to display Pakistani products in Chinese market.
He said the RCCI was co-sponsor in the Expo and it was a great honour for the business community of Rawalpindi that their Chinese counterparts have reposed their confidence on them and giving them high weightage. Rawalpindi, he said was closest city of China and other Central Asian states and trade through Silk Route would turn this region into a hub of economic and industrial activities.
Government, he said should encourage the business community taking part in such events in order to get a good market space in international market. "Once we succeeded in getting attention of more than one billion population China, we will have enough market to export our products", he added.
