The Askari Commercial Bank Ltd has won the Management Association of Pakistan (MAP)'s prestigious corporate excellence award for the financial sector for the second consecutive year. Statement issued here said the objective of the MAP Awards was to recognise the best-managed companies in Pakistan and create a sense of competition in the corporate sector for achieving excellence. The Corporate excellence awards duly recognise the best management and corporate governance practices, stability, financial performances and social responsibility as a corporate citizen.
In addition to the above, the Askari Bank had also been given the excellence award for the best financial performance in the Banking sector, the statement added.
The MAP makes this evaluation after a detailed comparison of the net asset value growth verses market performance, asset growth, equity growth, share value (average of last six months), return on equity as well as return on capital employed.
Kalim-ur-Rehman, the Askari Bank's President, under whose leadership the Bank had won the award twice in the last two years (21st and 22nd awards), whilst commending the Askari Bank team has stated that we bow our heads to Almighty Allah, who has bestowed this honour on us, we also recognise the hard work, dedication and commitment of the Askari Bank team which made us worthy of it, the statement concluded.-PR
