A clash took place between the wagon drivers and city bus service owners, after wagon owners and drivers observed strike on Wednesday and they blocked the traffic on Dera Adda by burning tyres. Upon this, city bus service employees opened fires resultantly six persons were injured. The injured were identified as Muhammad Yaquob, Muhammad Iqbal, Sajid Ali, Muhammad Imran, Riaz Ahmed and Sajjad Ahmed, who were hospitalised. Police reached the site and controlled the situation. On the assurance of DSP Karamat Hussain wagon owners called off their strike and removed the hurdles from the roads.
Wagon owners alleged that the Punjab government had allowed franchise bus service in city area only till April I, 2005 and it suspended the routes of wagons on the bus routes. But now bus owners had introduced their service for Muzaffargarh, Shujabad, Kehror Pucca, Kabirwal (inter city routes) with the connivance of the District administration because owner of the bus service is an MPA of ruling Muslim League.
The clash took place between the wagon drivers and Khan brother's staff on the issue of forcibly boarding the passengers on wagons.
