The ruling PML-Q and opposition Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) have fully backed the anti-US protest call given by the Muttahidda Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) against desecration of Holy Quran across the country on Friday (tomorrow, May 27). PML announced that the decision to participate in the anti-US protest rallies was taken by the PML President Chaudhry Shujat Hussain after consulting top PML leadership. The opposition ARD has also decided to support the MMA led protest against alleged desecration of Holy Quran. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the ARD Chairman and President PPP Parliamentarians Makhdoom Amin Fahim.
ARD Secretary General Iqbal Zafar of Jhagra told reporters that all components of the ARD including PML-N and PPP would fully participate in the anti-US protest across the country.
Earlier, the Chairman PML-N Raja Zafarul Haq has also backed the MMA led anti-US protest on desecration of Holy Quran at the US controlled detention centre.
Tehrik-i-Insaf chief, former cricket star Imran Khan has also backed anti-US protest by the MMA. Both leaders have assured their participation as well as members of their parties in the anti-US rallies on Friday, May 27.
MMA has announced to stage forceful protest against the US on desecration of Holy Quran on the same day.
A statement said that the MMA President Qazi Hussain Ahmed would lead a mammoth protest demonstration in the federal capital Islamabad.
MMA Secretary General, JUI Amir and opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman would lead a similar anti-US protest demonstration in Peshawar on the same day.
