'US assures probe into Quran desecration'

Foreign Office Spokesman, Jalil Abbas Jillani has said that Pakistan was in touch with the US administration on the issue of desecration of the Holy Quran in Guantanamo Bay. "We have been assured by the US administration that a proper investigation would be carried out. We have to wait for the report of the investigations," he told Voice of America (VOA). The sacrilege of the Holy Quran was an extremely shameless and condemnable act, he said. The spokesman said that Ms Rocca would discuss all bilateral issues including the war against terrorism and situation in Iraq and Afghanistan.
