Heavy contingents of Police, Rangers, Frontier Constabulary and other law-enforcement agencies have been deployed at all the telephone exchanges of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) for the security of its installations as the company employees have been continuing their strike, a senior official said.
He said Ranger troops were deployed at Karachi and all the telephone exchanges after 7 pm on Sunday, while the Frontier Constabulary has been called up to guard the company's installations at the telephone exchanges in NWFP.
The PTCL's employees on Sunday continued their third consecutive day strike and set up protest camps at different exchanges across the country.
The strike has rendered the PTCL's help and inquiry numbers disfunctional.
