Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG), Gwadar Battalion recovered huge quantity of hashish worth million of rupees and two satellite telephones form Sur Bandar area Balochistan. According to a press release issued here on Friday PCG Intelligence Unit, Gwadar, on a tip of contraband being smuggled through at night, constituted five teams. The team during the course of search operation found some suspicious movement along the coastal belt.
On the visibility of Pakistan Coast Guards team in the area, smugglers opened indiscriminate firing on the raiding party. After exchange of firing for sometime, the drug peddlers managed to flee from the scene taking advantage of darkness.
The Coast Guard later recovered 2,770 kilograms of fine quality hashish (charas) packed in plastic bags and two "Thuraya" (satellite mobile phone) sets lying abandon at the desolate place between mountain terrain and sandy areas.
Further investigation is underway by the PCG intelligence unit team.
