Gram sector gains on short supply

Upward trend was seen on the grain market at the weekend as most of the commodities turned higher on tight supply position, dealers said. On the grams side, garda Punjab picked up Rs 10 to Rs 1710-1760 on slow supplies, brokers said.
Garda dal Punjab followed suit and picked up Rs 25 at Rs 2150-2200 in process of trading, they added. Beetle dal also gained Rs 25 at Rs 2200-2250, brokers said.
On the cereals side, wheat Mexipak quoted at Rs 1085-1090 in the process of trading, dealers said. Other items did not move any side due to balanced demand and supply position, they observed.
