Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday said the policies of the government were geared towards promoting investment and increasing production to meet local demands and create more employment opportunities. He was talking to a delegation of the owners of the Steel Re-rolling mills and Smelting mills, which called on him at the Prime Minister House.
The delegation congratulated the government and the Prime Minister on presenting a growth-oriented budget, which would have a positive impact on the already growing economy.
The members informed the Prime Minister that the steel industry was performing well in the country.
They apprised the Prime Minister of the importance of steel in the construction industry, which in turn was also contributing to the growth of 30 to 40 ancillary industries.
