All Pakistan Organisation of Small Traders and Cottage Industries (APOSTCI) has appealed to the Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for withdrawing the levy of 0.1 per cent Withholding Tax on transaction of bank cheques amounting to Rs 25,000 and above as proposed in the federal budget 2005-06. A statement issued by the APOSTCI Acting Chairman Haji Haroon Memon and General Secretary Muhammad Tahir Khan on Wednesday maintained that the levy would affect banking business of small and middle class traders as well as the common man.
