Andy Roddick believes French Open champion Rafael Nadal has the potential to be the big surprise package at this year's Wimbledon. No player since Bjorn Borg has won back-to-back titles on the clay of Roland Garros and the grass of the All England club and even Nadal himself has been busy playing down his chances of emulating the great Swede.
But Roddick, last year's beaten finalist, would not be surprised if the Spanish teenager found his feet at Wimbledon a lot quicker than many expect. Roddick, fresh from completing a hat-trick of wins at the traditional Wimbledon warm-up tournament at Queen's, could face Nadal in the semi-finals, if the seedings pan out as envisaged by the organisers.
