President Pervez Musharraf and New Zealand's Governor General Dame Silvia Cartwright on Friday expressed the mutual resolve of two countries to enhance their relationship. The two leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest. President Musharraf briefed her about Pakistan's economic policies, fight against terrorism and Islamabad's efforts for establishment of peace and stability in the region.
Welcoming the President, the Governor General said New Zealand looks forward to developing co-operative relationship with Pakistan in areas of mutual complementarities.
Minister for Industries Jehangir Khan Tareen and Chairman Higher Education Commission, Dr Atta-ur-Rehman were present during the meeting.
Later, the Governor General hosted a luncheon reception in honour of the President.
