The development work is briskly underway on converting of 37 kilometre long Sialkot-Wazirabad road into dual carriageway costing Rs 880 million and the project would be completed in a stipulated period of one year. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday that the completion of this mega project would not only improve the flow of traffic but also ensure the speedy handling of exportable consignments from Sialkot Dry Port (SPD).
Besides, it would also play an instrumental role in bringing big boom in exports because Sialkot Export Processing Zone (SEPZ) and Sialkot International Airport are located on this track.
Meanwhile, the local business community especially the exporters have expressed their satisfaction and thanked the Punjab chief minister for initiating the dual-way project of Sialkot-Wazirabad road.
