The Member Policy and Strategy, Ministry of Information Technology, Zaheer Ejaz, said on Saturday that all the issues relating to national security with reference to PTCL privatisation have been addressed following a six-month-long process of discussion with the agencies concerned. Speaking in a PTV programme, he said it will be obligatory for all the operators under law to co-operate in the matters relating to security.
He said the privatisation of PTCL is not a new matter rather it remained under consideration for more than a decade.
An attempt was made in 1996 for its transaction but due to unfavourable market environment, the move was differed.
At present, the market environment is conducive and the transaction is being executed, he said.
