279 food department chowkidars regularised

Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has ordered regularisation of services of 279 chowkidars of the Sindh food department, who were appointed on contingent paid basis some years back. According to an official handout issued here on Tuesday, the chief minister approved a summary in this regard, floated by the Sindh food department to create 93 new posts of chowkidars on regular basis envisaging Rs 4.490 million.
The amount will be provided under the financial 2004-05 outside the budget. This will resolve a long-standing problem of 279 chowkidars serving on the contingent paid basis throughout the province.-PR
