Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas, Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has said that Kashmir and Palestine are the most sensitive issues in contemporary world, flash points for potential conflicts. Speaking at a PTV programme late Monday night he said, some positive development has taken place on Palestine issue in the recent past which promise the return of normalcy in Middle East.
He said the solution of Kashmir dispute has now become imperative to have a conflicts-free world order.
The issue of Kashmir becomes more sensitive in the context that it involves two nuclear powers he said adding an accidental conflict between these two nations will have the ingredients to disrupt not only the regional but international peace.
He said vis-a-vis lot of efforts during the past 57 years the issue of Kashmir still remains unsolved. President General Pervez Musharraf has taken bold and pragmatic initiative and the process has started to move in positive direction.
Faisal said all the confidence building measures so far taken between India and Pakistan are linked with the progress on Kashmir dispute. If the progress is made towards the situation of this dispute the process of confidence building will also keep on moving he said adding the region will see progress and prosperity.
He said both India and Pakistan have been adopting tough stance on the issue of Kashmir for past 57 years so it will take some time in softening the conditions.
Recent visit of APHC leaders from IOK to Azad Kashmir and Pakistan is a landmark event, which will of course help push the composite dialogue process in right direction, the minister said.
To a question he said, in reality Indians have accepted Kashmir as a dispute and a serious dialogue has been initiated for its solution.
He said, inclusion of Kashmiri people in the dialogue process is must to have a durable solution of this dispute.
