Four EU nations accept intervention white sugar

Intervention agencies in Poland and Hungary each accepted 17,000 tonnes of white sugar into storage, while Slovenia accepted 10,000 and Italy 21,301 tonnes, European Commission figures showed on Wednesday.
Poland also received an offer for 29,600 tonnes of intervention sugar and Italy an offer for 9,000 tonnes. These would now be examined by the national agencies, officials said.
Overall volumes of sugar held in EU intervention stores stood at 505,570 tonnes as of June 24 in seven countries, the figures showed.
